About this MACINTOSH version, Version 2.0

This version is a 32-bit application. (Transitioning to 64-bit is on my to-do list.). It has been tested successfully with Mac OS 10.6 and later.

This version is compatible with the most recent Mac OS "Yosemite". Note that you will be directed by the OS to download and install a legacy version of JAVA. (I did it with minimum hassle. Note that I will also be updating the software for greater compatibility, so check back from time to time).

HF CRITICAL MASS is based on the 1971 film, Critical Mass, by the late Hollis Frampton, and this software is dedicated to his memory. HF CRITICAL MASS adopts the structure of the earlier film as an interface for improvising digital video playback. Use the software to manipulate your Quicktime videos.

It is available at the links below, for those with older computers, or for those with access to an older computer who wish to compare version 1 (released 2002) and version 2 (released 2015).
